Chung Cheng High School , originally an all boys school was established on 24 January 1939. It was named after General Chiang Kai Sek. In August 1947 , the school bought a piece of land at Goodman Road and built another school there which was known as Chung Cheng High School ( Main). the other school at Kim Yan Road was known as Chung Cheng High School (Branch). Chung Cheng High School (Branch) was then moved to Guillemard Road in 1969. Chung Cheng High School ( Main) recieved an autonomous status by the Ministry of Education in 1996.
